Need help choosing a medium format film camera to shoot skateboarding.

Hey guys, I have been shooting 35mm film for a while now, and Its pretty much made me drop digital photography (other than for filming). I wanted to get a camera that allows me to bypass a 1/250th flash sync, which is all that my nikon F80 allows me to do. Is medium format the right move?

Ill be using this camera for mostly skateboarding, some portraits/landscapes. This is the reason ill be needing a higher flash sync, as ill need to be shooting above 1/250 to completely stop motion while skating.

Im about to start work in a few days, and im still living with my parents (little expenses), so ill have a budget of about $1500

Thanks !
